7 Days Machame Route Trekking

DAY 1

Leave Hotel, 2 hrs drive to machame park gate, drop off, work for permit and registrations, start hiking through rain forest up to machame campsite for dinner and overnight, 4-6 hrs hike, 3000m above sea level!

DAY 2

After breakfast leave the camp continue to shira campsite, hike along the steep ridge, up to halfway, either to stop for picnic lunch on the way to have picnic lunch at the camp with hot tea! 4-5hrs hike, 3840m, from here now you can see view of both peaks, kibo and shira peaks, rest in the afternoon , diiner and overnight,

DAY 3

After breakfast continue hiking towards barranco via lava tower4700m for picnic lunch, from here you will descend to barranco campsite for dinner and overnight 6-7hrs hike, 3950m,

DAY 4

It is short day, the breakfast will be bit late, leave the camp around 9am, start to climb barranco wall known as breakfast wall, takes one hour to reach the top of barranco wall, from there you will start to descend to karanga valley, will cross few rivers, karanga camp it is at the top of karanga valley, 3920m, hot lunch3 hrs hike, rest, dinner and overnight,

DAY 5

Another short day, after breakfast leave the camp to barafu campsite, lunch at the camp, 3hrs hike 4600m,from here now you can see mawenzi peak clearly! early dinner and try to sleep as much as you can,

DAY 6

At midnight wake up for tea with cookies, get prepare for the final and to push for the top, most of part it is steep with scree, takes up to 6 hrs to reach stella point, from here the summit can seen from stella point, another 45mins to 1 hrs to reach the top, it is time for celebration and photos, after short moment now start to descend to mweka campsite via barafu camp for short break and lunch, continue to mweka for dinner and overnight, 3100m

DAY 7

After breakfast continue to mweka gate where you will meet the driver to drive you back to the hotel,
